Hi, I’m Layla O’MARA

I began my training as an acupuncturist over 10 years ago, training as a T.C.M. (Traditional Chinese Medicine) practitioner.

My discovery of Five Element Acupuncture, however, was the missing piece of the puzzle for me. In it I found a system of medicine that strives to treat the person on the level of not only body, but also of mind and spirit, one that seeks to work in tune with nature in a beautiful and profound way.

I continue to see the impact of this elegant form of medicine on my patients every day, be it in the alleviation of digestive symptoms, support in a fertility journey, the lifting of stress, postpartum anxiety and depression or quite simply feeling more comfortable in their own skin and finding their true path in life.

As well as practicing acupuncture for the past 10 years, I am a mum of three, a qualified post partum doula and a matrescence guide and am passionate about supporting women on their journey through motherhood. I’m also a writer & you can follow my work here.

I am a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ireland and the Association of Five Element Acupuncturists.

a retreat

in the trees

Nestled amongst ancient oak trees in rural Ashford, Co. Wicklow, about 45 minutes from Dublin, your treatment room is a space that is healing in and of itself.

Built from Irish larch by master craftsmen from Co. Sligo who have poured love and care into every inch of it, your treatment space feels as if it is floating amongst the trees. A living green roof sits overhead and a babbling brook is often the only sound you will hear.

I look forward to welcoming you to a space in which you can be cared for and can exhale.
